New York: an observation vol.1 Sound Paintings
The songs, lyrics and chords are written 17.3-26.3.2023 during a visit to New York. They are recorded at Cassandra´s Private Room Gateway, in heart of Brooklyn, 150 Hull Street, Brooklyn, NY 11233, U.S. Beside instruments and vocals, the recordings contains sounds from streets, subways, parks etc.. recorded during long walks from Ocean Hill, Brownsville to Manhattan and back.The lyrics on this album gather the feeling felt and observed while on the journey and in N.Y in spring 2023. Written mostly in hours between dusk and the dawn, on impressions of what experienced and felt on the previous day. Ten of the texts were composed on spot and recorded during the stay.

This is a rockumentary short film from Matilda Mother band´s second visit to New York. During visit in July 2023 they created a new music album called A Closer View. The trip had a loose mission: to get a feel of New York mostly by walking around, then to transfer those feelings into words and music.
Pim & Pom on a search for a recording contract, wandering round the streets of New York, writing songs, playing stylophone and tambourine. Taking in the vibe and rhythm of the city. Going to Electric lady studios, talking to reception. Digging the groovy way of pacing the words. Connecting to the cosmic drone, riding round in the subway, sweating in the summer heat, bouncing echoes of skyscrapers, getting wet in a thunder storm, wearing out shoes. Just to get their mission complete:

Who were those daughters in their white collared shirts all three of them appearing in doorways and rooms always at different times like three sides of a same vision sisters to another sent to their cabins by the commander yet always returning one by one sometimes walking sometimes out of thin air faded like a photograph gazing at the orange embers.

1.2.2024 UPCOMING new dawn. There is more guitar solos in this album. Especially in song Golden Rule ia amazing guitar solo. Tomi Christiansson says; that it is all in fingers. That ´s why I don’t use pedals. If you can’t play by yourself, you don’t get the magic from pedals or the machines. All the songs are new written during visit to New York November 2023. Matilda Mother band participated to some open mics and got nice positive reactions from audience for playing and songwriting too. When you buy this album, you get drawings and lyrics to songs.
